Hillary Clinton

Not that anyone cares what my opinion is. But I just want to say that I am pro Hillary all the way this election cycle. And I want to go on record this early in the campaign, lest people think I am a mere front runner when she cinches the primary.

My reasons are specific:

I have always liked Hillary.

She is a woman. We need a woman president. Obama is great, but he is still a man (his blackness aside), and I think we need a woman in the oval office to put those islamo woman haters in their place.

Clinton, was a good president and we had good effective policy in the ’90s. With Hillary that will mean Bill is back. And whatever you think of them they do work as a political team. And they work well. This will be good for the nation.

Hillary was the brains behind the outfit in the 90s. She certainly lacks the charisma of her husband. But when it comes to policy it is mostly Hillary who wears the pants.

I am tired of both the overt and sometimes underhanded bashing of Hillary.

I was disillusioned by Gore in the 2000 election precisely because he distanced himself from the Clintons ham handedly. I will have no part in Clinton bashing. That being said if Gore runs again, I will be excited about his candidacy because of the environmental issues at stake. And he is an Apple guy.

Obama, is hype. Don’t get me wrong he is a great politican and a real populist. But he is hype just like Dean. Both great people, with good positions. But not presidential material, IMHO. I know the blogosphere, and Kos, and many others all hate Hillary. But so what. Just because you hate establishment candidates doesn’t mean you are right about the candidates. Hillary, will do the right thing in Iraq. And Hillary will be internationalist, and do a lot to mend our diplomatic fences.

There I said it, I went on public record. I feel much better now.

Go Hillary!

Now my dream scenario is that Hillary takes a visionary leap and drafts Brian Schweitzer, the governor of Montana to be her VP. And he accepts. They are both middle of the road, thinking people, and highly electable because of this. That would be excellent. Of course If I were betting money Bill Richardson will get the nod.
