Which is really Rick Rubin's genius and inspiration. Manson's performance is superb and true to the original. But for me Manson has always been a touch too obvious. His schtick has always been to play the anti christ straight. Which is fine but lacks subtlety for my taste. As for the John The Revelator video, it strikes me as visually sinister. I am generally inured of most shock value but there is something quite sinister and compeliing about this video. Especially the imagery of Bush on the apocalyptic horses. Downright creepy scary.
