If you have any interest in how the pentagon works or how we got into Iraq go watch the Lt. Col. Karen Kwiatkowski interview on C-Span’s Q&A series. She is quite good, and refreshing to listen to. Not shrill, not hysterical. Really just the modest reflections of a career military person who has insider knowledge of the organization and daily machinery of the pentagon. I am not personally really big on the military, I have never had any desire to serve, and have felt blessed that I have not had to serve (either from a draft or economic necessity). And most people I know in the military are of a definite conservative bent. However, I feel it is important to listen to those who have experience with the military establishment and moreover form alliances with those of all political stripes in a general opposition to unfounded and wholely destructive militaristic foreign policy. Lt. Col. Karen Kwiatkowski is one of those allies. Others I would support in the effort to oppose the war include Pat Buchanan and Tucker Carlson both of whom I completely disagree with on political grounds.

Kwiatkowski, has important things to say and this interview and is definitely worth your time if you care about how our country’s foreign policy is made and its military interventions ensue. Kwiatkowski became famous for her role in the film “Why We Fight”, which I discuss here.
