Hot pepper kills prostate cancer cells in study

A recent medical study finds that hot pepper kills prostate cancer cells. This is news to celebrate. Anyone who knows me personally knows that I consume large quantities of Tabasco sauce. I always carry a little bottle with me to restaurants. I buy it by the gallon jug. Seriously I do! For a long time I have felt that there is net positive benefit to eating this stuff, even if I couldn’t prove it. I have attributed Tabasco sauce to my overall health and generally robust immune system. Of course I should probably be quiet and not get too confident in my imperviousness to prostrate cancer. I would not want to befall an ironic fate like Jim Fixx, the active runner who collapsed of a heart attack in the mid 80’s after years of heralding the health benefits of running.

You conveniently left out the part in the article that also said spicy food has been linked to stomach cancer & other such ailments. I like spicy food, as I like beer, but moderation of both is probably healthiest.

Where in the article does it say this? I don’t see that statement. I would be curious to see this research.

None the less I agree with and try to live by the principle “moderation in all things even moderation itself”.

Of course my tabasco consumption habits do border on excessive. I will give you that. I am just another guinea pig in the game of life. If I die an early death and they do an autopsy I am sure I will be a case study in the effects of extensive lifetime consumption of spicy foods and tabasco.

The nutrition in chili peppers is well known.

This whole issue is interesting. But it seems to me that simply looking at the relative incidence of Prostrate Cancer in Mexico and Thailand versus England and France would reveal whether this theory has merit. Anybody know where I could find such statistics??

so is this theory of yours 100% proven affective by the health department(not saying you are wrong and that someone shouldnt bealive it). i am a high schooler and have just got into studying about the orgin, the reasons, and about the cancer cells soi was just wandering if i took your theory and put it to the test?
